Our hike leaders have the authority to tweak plans for safety, including cancellation in case of lightning or flash flooding. Yet, many adventures persist through light rain or snow.

Stay in the loop—check the event page at least 2 hours before the hike for updates from our vigilant leaders. Keep notifications on and glance at the page the night before and the morning of the hike for the latest.

Our aim is secure and enjoyable hikes for all. If you're a fair-weather hiker, remember to adjust your RSVP status accordingly!

We love our furry companions as much as you do! In order to provide an exceptional hiking experience, dogs will not be permitted to disturb the health, safety, rights, comfort, and enjoyment of other members, as well as other hikers on the trail. For our hikes that are marked as dog-friendly in the event details, please be sure your dog meets the following requirements.

• Under direct supervision and control of the owner.

• Contained to no longer than a 6-foot non-retractable leash.

• Well-behaved and adequately socialized.

• Non-reactive: will not bark, lunge, growl, etc. at other people or dogs.

• Pack in, Pack out: you are responsible for cleaning up after your dog in a sanitary manner.

It's always fun to bring a guest along with our hikes. To stay with our rules we do need them to follow the same rules as all our members! Please ask your guest to do the following before joining us for a hike:

• Join the WOTTHC Facebook group.

• RSVP for the hiking event on Facebook. Each individual must RSVP for themselves to ensure we stay within the capacity number.

• Sign a waiver.

As an organization that serves women in an outdoor space, it isn't appropriate or necessary to have weapons at our events and hikes. We recognize that local laws may allow individuals to carry firearms or other weapons. We also acknowledge that in some areas, carrying a weapon for self-protection from animal attacks may be considered good practice. However, these situations are infrequent and highly unlikely at our events. Our typical group size and noise often deter animal encounters.

For our hikes to be safe and comfortable for all to participate, please follow the requirements:

• Please leave the firearms at home safely and securely.

• We encourage using noise-based deterrents as the primary mode for keeping animals at bay.

• If carrying bear mace or other spray deterrents, these must be secured to avoid accidental discharge.

• Small knives & other survival tools are not subject to this policy but should be secured to avoid harm to others.

We kindly ask that hikers who RSVP 'going' to our events on Facebook make every effort to attend. In the event of an emergency cancellation, hikers are permitted to adjust their RSVP status at any time before the hike begins to avoid penalties. However, two instances of not attending without updating the status will lead to removal from the group. Reapplication for membership is possible after a period of 6 months.

This policy has been established due to the limited availability of spots, the high demand for our events, and in consideration of our volunteers' time. It ensures fairness and allows others the opportunity to participate in our activities. Thank you for understanding!
